Proposed wind farm on Ice Mountain blows in more concerns Gamesa Energy USA's proposed 10 to 15 turbine wind farm on borough watershed property found its way once again on council's agenda last evening. The proposal looks to generate between $3 to $5 million over the projects 30 year life span for the borough.(more) Tyrone Borough Council approves agenda items, including parking meter change Tyrone Borough Council unanimously approved its agenda items one by one last night at its May regular session.
Among those items included the approval to reprogram the borough's 144 electronic parking meters to accept nickels, dimes, and quarters.(more) TAHS ‘West Side Story’ receives
eight Isaac Awards nominations Tyrone Area High School students recently wrapped up their very successful production of “West Side Story” on the school’s auditorium stage.
For all their hard work and dedication, the cast received nominations in all eight categories of the Altoona Community Theatre’s Isaac Mishler Awards.(more) ‘Ag in the Classroom Program’ On May 8 and 9, the Tyrone Area FFA invited 400 elementary students up to the TAHS Agriculture Science department to participate in the annual “Ag in the Classroom Program”.(more) Hatch, Eagle 400 relay top-seeded at D-6AA The Tyrone and Bellwood-Antis track teams will participate in the District 6-AA Track and Field Meet at Mansion Park this afternoon beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Bellwood-Antis senior Ben Hatch is the top seed in both the 400 dash (51.04) and 800 run (1:57.35), while the Tyrone quartet of Shane Emigh, Johnny Franco, Brandon Gehret and Larry Glace is seeded first (44.30) in the 400 relay.(more)
