Due to the amount of snow the area received Saturday morning, the Tyrone Area Community Organization’s annual Easter Egg Hunt had to be postponed at the last minute.
TACO has rescheduled the Easter Egg Hunt for Saturday, March 29 at 4 p.m. at Reservoir Park.
This annual tradition is a an exciting time for area children, so postponing it a week won’t matter as the kids will still get a chance to participate in the egg hunt!
If the weather should be uncooperative again, watch for an announcement in The Daily Herald or tune into WTRN 1340 AM.
In other upcoming events, TACO has scheduled its annual Fish Rodeo for April 26 at Reservoir Park, starting at 8 a.m.
TACO sponsors such events as the Easter Egg Hunt, the Fish Rodeo, the Tyrone Halloween Parade, a Distinguished Service Award and Boss of the Year Award.
It also sponsors pee-wee and teener league baseball teams and a youth football competition as well as awards four scholarships of $500 each to seniors at Tyrone Area High School.
Because of the success of the group’s largest fundraiser of the year, the radio auction, TACO is also able to help families facing a crisis situation on a case-by-case basis.
TACO meets the second Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. and dues are $10 a year. Individuals must be 16-years-old to participate as a member of TACO.
