Tyrone Legion has had their troubles at the plate in the George B. Kelley this season, at times, but Wednesday evening at Mansion Park, left no doubt they have the capability to score in bunches. Tyrone Legion pounded out 18 hits and took advantage of a dozen errors to traumatize Park Furniture 28-3 in four innings. Scoring in all four innings, the Legion started with four runs in the top of the first at Mansion Park, before Park Furniture even had a chance to bat, then added six more tallies in the second, a whopping 13 in the third, certainly unlucky for Park, and finished the debacle with five more in the fourth.
With the big win, Legion improves to 8-10. In the battle of four teams to claim the fifth place seed in the upcoming Federation playoffs. Donnie Hunter scattered four hits to pick up the complete-game victory, with three strikeouts and two walks, and his teammates made sure all he had to do was throw strikes and get outs.
