The Tyrone Area School Board met last evening to conduct business within the school district. Board President Lee Stover was absent from the meeting.
The following items of interest were approved by the board:
• The rejection of all bids received for the Tyrone Area Middle/High School Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Project. The district plans to reevaluate the project and its timeframe of completion and cost.
• The awarding of 2008-09 General Requisition Order to Kurtz Brothers of Clearfield, PA, in the total amount of $36,384.61.
• The purchasing of the 2008-09 paper order through Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 Consortium in the total amount of $23,654.40.
• The acceptance of Assistant Superintendent Daryl I. Smith’s resignation, effective March 19, 2008.
• The proposed school calendar for the 2008-09 school year, incorporating 185 teacher contract days and 179 student days.
• The proposed Elementary and Middle/High School bell schedules, effective with the 2008-09 school year.
• The Elementary library book order in the total amount of $7,000 and the Middle/High School library book order in the total amount of $17,485.62.
• Approval to PlanCon J: Project accounting based on final costs and financial report, as certified by Boyer & Ritter Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, and Hayes Large Architects covering the period of September 2, 2004 through January 31, 2008 for the Middle/High School Building Project.
