Mobile Inks & Toners in Tyrone recently moved locations from its 10th Street location to Washington Avenue and 3rd Street, across from Pizza Hut in Snyder Township.
Owner and operator Kevin F. Duncan, Sr., who used to march for the Tyrone Guards back in 1976, wanted to open up a store in Tyrone that offered the same things people have to travel to Altoona or State College for.
Being retired on full disability from the military, Duncan decided to open his Mobile Inks & Toners store a year ago after a friend of his from Tyrone, Ann Knab, suggested Tyrone would be a great place to offer ink cartridge refilling.
Duncan’s business not only offers inkjet cartridge refilling, but also laser and copier toners, copy and fax service, specialty printing and rubber stamping. He also offers computer repair service, for anyone whose computer needs a good spring cleaning or needs fixed.
Mobile Inks & Toners moved location for two main reasons, according to Duncan. He said that parking is better now and his store is no longer in danger of flooding.
“The main reason to move here was the parking,” said Duncan. “People complained about having to pay the meter to visit my store for the few minutes they needed.”
He added, “Moving out here also has enabled us to lower our prices, because our overhead has been cut in half.”
Duncan’s prices can’t be beat. The average black ink refill cartridge at Mobile Inks & Toners is $12, and the average color refill is $15. He guarantees all of his customers that they will have their cartridges the next business day or their money back.
“Since being at our new location, I’ve seen so many new faces and the customers are coming back,” said Duncan. “Location is so important.”
Mobile Inks & Toners is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Duncan and his employee, Jill Richards of Tyrone, are more than willing to help each individual customer with their individual needs.
“We do whatever we can for our customers,” ended Duncan.
