As the season is winding down the Tyrone Lady Eagle Volleyball team continues to improve but the results on the scoreboard remain consistent. What Tyrone lacks in wins they make up for in their efforts. The Lady Eagles lost to Penns Valley on Thursday evening.
The Lady Eagles lost to the upstart Lady Rams 25-16, 25-18 and were upended in the third game 25-7.
“We played well the first two games and next thing I knew we were down 9-2 in game 3, We need to put together a complete game and win one of these.” Coach Jim Cushion said after the game. “Tyrone continues to get quality play from the back row with Kristen Fry, Chelsie Santoni, and Kim Fink, Also Suzanne Zimmerman is playing into her new role as Libero and contributing as well. At the net the Lady Eagles improve every night with Kristin Gearhart recording four kills and Ariane Miller with three of her own. Kassie Gardner and Jess Thomas each had four assists as setters. Everyone is contributing and getting lots of playing time so we should be further ahead next season.” added Cushion.
Thomas and Santoni each had seven service points to lead Tyrone.
Tyrone’s JV team also dropped their match to Penns Valley 25-16 and 25-20.
Rebecca Fry continued her serving expertise with 11 service points.
Tyrone heads into the final week with three matches beginning Monday, at home, against Lewistown.
