The Tyrone Hospital Development Council has announced the results of its 7th annual golf tournament sponsored by DelGrosso Foods, DelGrosso Amusement Park, Community Pharmacy, and Metz & Associates. The net funds raised were $16,926.
Randy Miles, Sr., Chairman of the Tyrone Hospital Development Council, said funds raised will be used to help pay for renovations to portions of the Tyrone Hospital’s emergency department and to the patient registration area. The planned changes will create greater privacy for patients in both areas and will enhance security in the emergency department.
Miles said the Development Council is pleased to be supporting the renovation project this year.
“The areas that will be improved are areas that affect the vast majority of patients who visit the hospital. All patients who visit Tyrone Hospital for services go through the registration process. The emergency department is also a heavily used area, and many of the hospital’s patients are admitted through the ED,” said Miles.
Each year the Development Council identifies capital equipment or projects needed by the hospital and conducts fund raisers to support one of those.
“Thanks to the generosity of the community, many area businesses, and the support from the Tyrone Hospital family for the golf outing, we are able to make a significant contribution this year,” said Miles.
Miles said the Development Council’s annual Tree of Light fund raiser will start in early November and run through December 31, and it too will support the renovation project.
