Mr. Fink’s fourth grade class at the Tyrone Elementary School recently had an international visitor with memories of Tyrone. Mr. Fink introduced Maria Teresa “Mayte” Sanchez de Gomez as his “sister” who he had not seen for 30 years. Mayte was a Rotary exchange student from Tehuacán, Mexico in 1978. She was placed with the Fink family as her first host home. Mayte graduated with the TAHS class of 1978 and recently returned for her 30th high school class reunion. During her visit, Mayte was invited to speak to Mr. Fink’s class. She spoke about kids and schools in Mexico.
