William E. Skelton, Sr., 71, of 320 W. 15th St., Tyrone, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008 at his residence.
He was born July 1, 1937 in Tyrone, a son of the late Delmer Clyde and Wilmina L. (Wiser) Skelton.
He was married August 1, 1958 to Marie Roxanne Renney.
He is survived by his wife of Tyrone, a son William E. Skelton, Jr. (Robbyn) of Tyrone, daughters Denise A Hewitt (Mike) of Crawford, Texas, Marjorie L. Tangeman (James) and Dawnett M. Matley (Gary) of Tyrone.
Eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A brother Robert L. Skelton of Tyrone; sisters Carol L. Parks of Bald Eagle and Georgeanna Weston of Tyrone.
There are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers Delmer C. Skelton, Jr. and Donald Skelton, a sister Dolores Skelton and a grandson Bailey Skelton.
He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, a graduate of Tyrone Area High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He always enjoyed family and friends.
He was retired from P.P. Glass Industries after many years service.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Dennis Gable officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Snyder Twp.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
