On Saturday, May 17 the first “Pints for Pets” Brewfest to benefit the Central PA Humane Society was held, and this event “knocked it out of the park!”
It was held at the Blair County Ballpark. There were over 2,000 people in attendance, and it raised a whopping $40,000, making it the biggest fundraiser in the Central PA Humane Society history.
“Everyone in attendance gave rave reviews to the Brewfest, and when we say everyone we mean everyone!” said Brewfest organizer, Rick Vanevenhoven. “There were over 50 breweries and importers of beer providing samples of their products to the attendees. Four fantastic bands provided great entertainment free of charge. The Curve had their concessions stands open for the event and provided some great food to compliment the huge variety of beers offered. Every minute of the event was pure fun.”
Organizers would like to thank everyone that attended and everyone that lent a hand in making this fundraiser such a success.
“Sincere thanks to Todd Parnell and everyone at the Curve for their support – they made everything possible!” said Pints for Pets Chairman, Mark Dellinger. “The breweries have our appreciation for their contribution of products and their time.”
Most of all CPHS would like to thank the “Pints for Pets” Committee – Mark Dellinger, Bill Kroft, Rick Vanevenhoven, David Cassidy, Ben Mazur, Jeff Metzler and James Gerraughty. It took many hours and a full year to bring this event to the Ballpark.
“They did an amazing job. Thank you,” said Debbie Pierce, Director of Marketing at CPHS.
The Committee will begin planning next year’s “Pints for Pets” shortly. They expect even greater things for the second round and have set their sights on a profit goal that should surpass this year’s result.
For more information about “Pints for Pets” sponsorship opportunities, or if you would like to serve on the Committee, call Deb Pierce at 942-2477. Tentative date for next year’s event is Saturday, May 30.
