DelGrosso Foods, Inc., the oldest major family-owned producer of pasta sauce in the U.S., proudly announced it will be featured on Food Network’s behind-the-scenes show, “Unwrapped,” on Monday, November 3 at 9 p.m.
The “Unwrapped” episode, titled, “Oodles of Noodles,” will take viewers on a behind-the-scenes tour of DelGrosso Foods’ family-owned pasta-sauce manufacturing plant and DelGrosso’s Amusement Park, both located in Tipton.
The DelGrossos, often called “The First Family of Pasta Sauce,” began producing pasta sauce commercially in 1947. Today, in its third generation, DelGrosso Foods continues to run the company as a close-knit family business. Each year, DelGrosso Foods manufactures and packages more than 40 million jars, which are distributed throughout the U.S. and across the globe, including Asia and the Middle East.
“We manufacture pasta sauce for the masses with the personal attention and care of a long-standing family-owned business,” stated Joe DelGrosso, Vice President of Operations for DelGrosso Foods, Inc. “We are thrilled to share the story behind our family’s commitment and passion for making the finest pasta sauce available with Food Network viewers.”
“To be featured on ‘Unwrapped’ is a very proud moment in the history of our company,” added Michael DelGrosso, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for DelGrosso Foods, Inc.
“Unwrapped” cameras will take viewers on a nostalgic tour of DelGrosso Foods manufacturing plant to uncover the art of making pasta sauce from start to finish. DelGrosso Family members will share the story of how the family legacy began, its growth, and which “tasty” traditions remain since 1947. Today, the company continues to use only the finest, freshest ingredients available including fresh vegetables and cheeses, which are grated daily by hand and placed by hand, into the cooking kettles.
The company is well-known for its best-selling traditional DelGrosso Meat-Flavored Spaghetti Sauce, which is highlighted in the “Unwrapped” episode as well as the company’s ultra-premium line, La Famiglia DelGrosso, consisting of eight family member’s secret recipes that represent the best of what the DelGrossos bring to the table for special occasions.
DelGrosso Foods, Inc. is the oldest major family-owned producer of pasta sauce in the U.S., tracing its roots to 1914 and an Italian immigrant’s old-world recipe for pasta sauce. Ferdinand and Mafalda DelGrosso formalized production of their family’s pasta sauce for retail in 1947. Today DelGrosso Foods, based in Tipton, manufactures its traditional pasta sauce, salsa, meatballs, pizza sauces, a sloppy joe sauce, and a new ultra-premium line, La Famiglia DelGrosso. DelGrosso Foods, Inc. also serves as manufacturer of many private-label sauces offered throughout the world.
