Congressman Bill Shuster (R-Penn.) announced that he will launch his summer “Listening Tour” for 2002 on Friday. Congressman Shuster will start his tour, which will bring him to all 14 counties in the new Ninth Congressional District.
On Friday, Congressman Shuster will announce a new grant for the Altoona-Blair County Airport.
In addition, Congressman Shuster will hold official office hours in Hollidaysburg and in Tyrone.
The office hours will provide an opportunity for people in the community to share their ideas and talk with Congressman Shuster. Details of the grant for the airport will be released at the announcement on Friday.
“This is something we started during the first campaign,” said Angelo Terrana, spokesperson for Congressman Shuster. “The Congressman will visit all 14 counties that are in his District. He meets with local officials, takes tours of plants on his visits, but he also holds office hours in which the people can meet one on one with the Congressman. Our goal is to talk to as many people as we can. The goal is to represent everyone in the District equaly and we get to hear concerns and ideas in the one on one sessions.”
