The Tyrone Police Department has made a local arrest in connection with the kidnapping of an Altoona man on Oct. 8.
Tyrone police report that Mark Grazier, 20, of Lincoln Avenue was apprehended at a residence at 8:14 p.m. Friday. He was wanted on numerous felony arrest warrants. He was arraigned before District Magistrate Patrick Jones and jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Police said the arrest was made in connection with a stolen pistol used in the kidnapping crime two weeks ago.
Immediately following the incident, Nikki Mussleman, Stephen Piner II and Joseph Mosey, all of Altoona, and Rasheen Meyers of Flinton, were arrested. Musselman, Piner and Meyers were charged with kidnapping, unlawful restraint, criminal conspiracy, receiving stolen property and harassment. Mosey was charged with kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, simple assault, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and harassment.
According to police, the defendants forcibly removed a man from his 1216 46th Ave., Altoona, apartment early in the morning of Oct. 8. Police said 45 minutes later, they brought the man back to his home and attempted to retrieve funds from the man’s parents for his safe return.
Police said the man’s parents were able to contact 911 and the Logan Township Police Department responded.
Police said the .357-caliber pistol used in the kidnapping was reported stolen from the Tyrone residence of David Grazier on Lincoln Avenue.
Grazier was arraigned on charges of firearm not to be carried without a license, a third-degree felony; and misdemeanor crimes of unauthorized sale/transfer of firearms, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. A preliminary hearing will be held in 3-10 days.
