Three Pittsburgh men face numerous drug charges in Blair County following an Oct. 30 “Buy/Bust” operation in the City of Altoona.
According to Agent Randy Feathers, the operation targeted alleged Heroin dealers from Pittsburgh. As a result of the task force’s activity, three were arrested on criminal charges.
Aaron Edger Smith, 20, is charged with criminal conspiracy, possession of heroin, delivery of heroin, criminal use of a communication facility and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Melvin Charles Allen, 23, is charged with criminal conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. James Fannell, 50, is charged with criminal conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Officers seized a quantity of heroin and marijuana, numerous cell phones, a rental vehicle and approximately $3,400 in cash.
The men will be arraigned at a later date at the office of District Justice E. Doyle who will set bail and schedule a preliminary hearing.
The task force was assisted by the Altoona Police Department and the Blair County District Attorney’s Office.
