A 22 year-old man was arrested Saturday afternoon for the rape and sexual assault of two Tyrone area teenagers.
The man, Scott Myers of RR #3 Altoona is facing two counts of felony rape, two counts of felony sexual assault and two counts of aggravated indecent assault and misdemeanor charges of indecent assault, corruption of minors, furnishing alcohol to minors and furnishing cigarettes to minors.
According to State Police in Hollidaysburg, the alleged rape and sexual assault took place in Tyrone Township between 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
In an affidavit filed at District Justice Craig Ormsby’s office, at 11 p.m. on November 8, 2002, the accused picked up three juveniles near the Citizens Fire Company in Tyrone. One of the girls gave him $10 to purchase beer. The accused purchased a 12 pack of Milwaukee’s Best Ice.
They then drove out to Route 453 outside of Tyrone. One of the juveniles insisted on going home. The accused drove her home. The accused proceeded to take the two juveniles to his trailer in Sinking Valley. The juveniles insisted they wanted to go home. The accused then took the girls to a location 4/10 of a mile off Route 453, Hill Road. He backed into a side dirt road, got out of the car and asked which of the juveniles wanted to have sex with him.
The juveniles both said no.
The accused grabbed one of the girls and pushed her into the back seat and had another get in the front seat. He forced intercourse on the girl in the back seat. The juvenile in the front, got his wallet and was able to identify the accused. Later he forced one of the juveniles to perform oral sex on the other juvenile.
The juveniles talked the accused into taking the girls home. The accused stopped at Martin’s General Store in Bellwood for gas, and the girls escaped.
Myers admitted to State Police that he purchased the beer, then went to 10th street to see a friend and said at 4 a.m. the girls came asking for a ride to Bellwood.
In a second interview, Myers admitted to having consensual sex and smoking marijuana with the girls in the car.
Myers is in the custody of the Blair County Jail in lieu of $80,000 percentage cash bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled before District Justice Fred Miller on November 19.
