The Tyrone junior high boys basketball team evened their season record at 2-2 with a 49-34 triumph at the expense of Bald Eagle Area.
Playing at Bald Eagle Area, the Baby Eagles took a 19-15 advantage into the lockerroom at halftime and then turnedup the heat in the third quarter. Tyrone outscored BEA 14-2 in the third quarter to jump out to a 33-17 lead going into the final stanza.
“We played much more aggressively on the offensive end than we have all year,” said Tyrone coach Jim Domenick. “We were much more consistent in every quarter.”
Adam Shaffer led the scoring for the Eagle junior high with 14 points, while Adam Corle had 12 points and Jim Gillam added eight.
Tyrone, now takes their 2-2 mark into their next game at home against Phiipsburg-Osceola at 3:15 on Friday.
