The Blair County District Attorney’s office will receive proceeds from the sale of a Tyrone area home that was owned and occupied by a drug dealer.
Assistant District Attorney Douglas Keating announced Friday that Blair County Senior Judge Thomas G. Peoples ordered approximately $40,000, the proceeds from the sale of the property located at 2 Oak Hill Lane, Tyrone to be used by the Blair County District Attorney’s office in future investigations of drug crimes.
In his court order, Judge Peoples concluded that Sandra Paese, the former owner of Mario’s Pizza Palace in downtown Tyrone, used the Oak Hill Lane property “in the conduct of and in furtherance of numerous and repeated criminal enterprises in violation of the laws of the Commonwealth which prohibit trafficking in controlled substances.”
The Judge also concluded that Paese did so of her own free will to the great detriment and harm of the community and public welfare.
Blair County District Attorney Richard Consiglio also feels that Paese’s drug dealing caused great detriment to the community. Consiglio wants drug dealers to know that his office will take every step legally possible to take their property and profits from drug dealings.
Consiglio would like to commend the excellent work of Tyrone Borough Police Chief Joseph Beachem, Officer Andrew Crist, the Pennsylvania State Police and the Blair County Drug Task Force in the investigation of Sandra Paese.
