The Birmingham Borough Council met on Monday evening for its monthly meeting.
The first item of business was the year-end treasurer?s report which was given by Betty Kimberling and accepted by council.
The next item was reorganization of officers. It was decided that the present officers would be retained in their positions; Lee Pryor will serve as president and Dale Drake will serve as vice president.
There was a complaint of holes in the borough roads that are maintained by the state Department of Transportation. PENNDOT will be notified concerning this problem. Also, there was discussion concerning blacktopping of Centre Alley. This matter will be addressed further at the next meeting.
One of the council members stated that he had been approached by some teenagers prior to the meeting. The teens told him that they had accidentally toppled over a tombstone in the cemetery. The teens said that they would be willing to pay to have the stone reset. Council commended the young people for their honesty.
Under new business, it was decided that a contribution to the new Tyrone-Snyder Public Library would be made by the council.
