With sunshine and warmer temperatures and the start of the baseball and track and field seasons, The Daily Herald kicks into full gear with the first of our spring publications.
With Easter around the corner a new idea has surfaced and one lucky child will be a winner while enjoying sharing their artistic abilities.
The Daily Herald will produce, for the first time, a sixteen page Easter coloring book which area children will color from front to back and drop off at participating sponsors to be judged. Each sponsor will pick a winner out of all the completed coloring books and one overall winner will be drawn at random – winning an Easter basket full of candy and toys.
The book will feature both religious and fun themes based around the Easter holiday and will appear in the Monday, April 14 edition of The Daily Herald. Extra copies of the coloring book will also be available at participating sponsors. The grand prize winner will be drawn on Friday, April 18.
Also in the planning stages for a Saturday, April 26 release is The Daily Herald’s annual Spring Home and Garden Supplement. This 16-page tabloid features businesses who specialize in home improvement, gardening, cleaning, painting, mowing and more. Articles on selected local business will highlight the book, as well as articles on improving your home or garden this spring.
After a long and hard winter, this edition will be welcomed by all who read it. For advertising information on both of these spring projects call Patty Hyde at 684-4000.
