The Lady Eagles took the road Wednesday for a softball game at Moshannon Valley. The Lady Damsels scored apir of tallies in the second and one more in the fifth. Tyrone came back with one in the third, falling to 2-3 on the year following a 3-1 loss to Moshannon Valley.
Mindy Rudy drove in the Lady Eagles only run and Katie Whitby pounded out two hits. Loriel Herist singled and scored the Tyrone run in the third inning. Stephanis Catich and Heather Stanton each belted a double for Tyrone.
Hilary McNelis scattered eight hits, allowing two earned runs, striking out six and walking two for the Lady Eagles.
Lindsey Hamilton picked up the win for the Lady Damsels allowing one run on seven hits, fanning six and ot walking a batter.
“The girls played a good game on defense,” said Tyrone coach Lois Loncher. We got a couple of girls in rundown situations and got both of them out. On offense , we executed a perfect squeeze play. The girls started to be more aggressive at the plate inthe last four innings, but still need to be aggressive from the beginning. We are still looking at too many pitches. I think it’s coming.”
