This week, we are happy to announce The Daily Herald and WTRN will be hosting two Meet the Candidates forums.
The first will be held May 7 and feature the candidates of the Tyrone School Board, Tyrone Borough Council and the Snyder Township Board of Supervisors. The second forum will be May 14 and will feature candidates for the offices of District Justice, Blair County Commissioners and Blair County Court of Common Pleas.
These two forums will take place at the Tyrone Elementary School Large Group Instruction room at 7 p.m.
This is an opportunity to possibly meet 28 candidates who are vying to represent you.
We are looking forward to your input. Over the next week, we would like to hear what you would like to know from the candidates. You can e-mail your questions to dheraldnews@adelphia.net, fax them to 684-4238 or mail them to The Daily Herald, PO Box 246, Tyrone, Pa. 16686.
This is an opportunity for the candidates to present their views and for the voters to find out about the candidates. We hope to see you at both forums.
Congratulations to the Bellwood-Antis 400 meter relay team of Dan Houser, Matt Plummer, Damien Miller and Cory Daly. These four exceptional athletes were fortunate enough to compete in one of the most prestegious track and field events in the nation on Friday. They ran in the Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. They ran on the track that many Olympic gold medalists have competed on. Congratulations.
Kudos to the cast, crew and faculty that helped make Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat a success this past weekend. There were months of hard work by the kids and it paid off in steller performances each time they hit the stage. Congratulations.
At The Daily Herald, we are working hard to give you news that impacts our community. We start a three part series today on Interstate 99 and on Saturday, we will take a look at the chemical training that soldiers receive. Throughout the week, we will continue to feature the candidates for the Snyder Township Supervisor position.
I want to thank Lori Eckert for her comment as she paid her paper bill yesterday. It always brightens our spirits when someone comes in and says they look forward to reading our paper. Thanks Lori.
It’s hard to believe that the winter may be over. Just to be safe, I am keeping the ice scraper inside the truck.
I thank you for reading The Daily Herald and we will talk again soon.
