PennDOT announced today that rehabilitation work will begin Thursday, July 5 for three bridge structures in Snyder Township, Blair County.
Two of the bridges are along the entrance and exit ramps of I-99 at Bald Eagle. The first is located over Bald Eagle Creek, and the second is located over the Nittany and Bald Eagle Railroad.
The work on these bridges consists of replacing the existing deck joints, and the removal and replacement of the bridge deck surface with latex concrete overlays. Some associated roadway work will also take place during this project, such as shoulder upgrades, the construction of a raised median and some additional bituminous overlay work.
The bridge is on Old Route 220 over McFarland’s Run. The rehabilitation work will mainly consist of a latex overlay, with other minor repairs to the abutments and roadway work.
All work is weather-dependent and early phases of work will be under flag person control.
The contractor for this $2.6 million project is Swank Associated Companies, Inc., of New Kensington. All work is expected to be complete by late November.
