Verna L. “Bezzy” Riggleman, 73, of Grazierville, RD 4 Box 74, Tyrone, PA died at 11:55 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2003 at the Altoona Hospital.
She was born July 20, 1930 in Tyrone, a daughter of the late Commodore Perry and Elsie (Friday) Riggleman.
She was formerly married to Mahlon R. Osterhout Jan. 3 1948.
Surviving are four children – Barbara (Reg) Miller, Mahlon “Butch” Osterhout, Suzanne (Tom) Decker, Darlene (Paul) Tuskovich all of Tyrone, PA and a foster son, Ronald (Michelle) Miller with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan.
Also, 20 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters: Robert (Helen) Riggleman, Dorothy Yeager, Thomas (Rita) Riggleman, Conny Riggleman all of Tyrone.
There are several aunts, nieces and nephews and her longtime companion, Clair Ewing of Tyrone.
She was preceded in death by a son Lee Osterhout, brothers Paul and Richard, a sister Alice Milton and a grandson, Alan Lynn Osterhout.
She was a member of the Tyrone Moose Lodge No. 25 where she was a Past Senior Regent and held a College of Regents Degree. She was a member of the VFW Cootiettes and was an avid Bingo player.
Before her retirement she had worked at Big Yank Corp., Petersburg Transformer and Petersburg Manufacturing Co.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Rev. Peggy J. Bonsell officiating. Interment will follow at Bald Eagle Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
