Mrs. Elva C. Ross, 103, Bell Court, formerly of 1824 N. Tuckahoe St., Bellwood, died Monday morning, January 26, 2004 at her home.
She was born April 18, 1900 in Bellwood, a daughter of the late Stephen M. and Annie M. (Davis) Burns. She married George R. Ross on January 7, 1921 in Bellwood. He died April 19, 1967.
Mrs. Ross is survived by two daughters: Eileen Wilson of RD 2 Tyrone, and Maxine Wagner of Bellwood; twelve grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and twenty-four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons: William, Glenn and Robert and five sisters: Mary DeRemer, Lucy Sigle, Lola Bricker, Roby Ricketts, and Rosanna Cherry.
Mrs. Ross was a member of the Olivet Baptist Church, Bellwood. She was a charter member of the Bellwood-Antis High School Band Parents. She was a devoted football fan of the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils, Penn State, the Steelers and the Eagles.
Mrs. Ross enjoyed crocheting and crafts. In her later years, she devoted her time to reading the Bible and playing games with her neighbors at Bell Court.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wed., Jan. 28, at the Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 29, 2004 at the funeral home with Pastor Kenneth Beichler officiating.
Interment will be at Antis Cemetery, Antis Township.
