The Bellwood-Antis junior high wrestlers particpated in the annual junior high Tri-County Wrestling Tournament at Saxton, on Saturday. B-A placed four wrestlers in the finals and all four came through with championships. Tim Collier (90), Ron Wilson (122), Boe Latchford (155) and Andy Martinez (185) all claimed titles.
Joe DelMastro (100), Shane Noye (110), Dustin Pruznac (115) won third place medals and Don Partner (95) and Garrett Wyland (138) finished fourth. Tyler McCracken (75), Chad Schiling (165) and Caleb Stephens (210) finished fifth and Trey Mock (85), Ricky Tilley (130), Dan Pielmeier (145) and Kris Morder (250) all finished sixth.
Northern Bedford won the team title with 296 points and four champs, Glendale was second with 213 points and two champs. Everett had 203 points with two champs, B-A was fourth with 189 points and Claysburg-Kimmel rounded out the top five with 133 points and one champ.
The host Tussey Mountain, was sixth with 82, Juniata Valley 70, Moshannon Valley 69 and one champ, Southern Huntingdon 51 and Central 49.
Tim Collier decisioned Jared Stiffler of Central, 9-3, and edged Andrew Sollenberger of Northern Bedford, 6-5 in the finals at 90.
Ron Wilson defeated Craig Bickford of Glendale, by a 10-0 major decision and scored a 2-0 decision over Ethan Boyd of Northern Bedford, in the finals at 122.
Boe Latchford pinned Ben Kaiser of Tussey Moutain, in 0:35, pinned Robert Jeffries of Glendale, in 1:24 and decisioned Lance Clark of Everett, 11-5 in the finals at 155.
Andy Martinez pinned Tony Hoey of Tussey Mountain, in 1:08 and Caleb Hagelberger of Northern Bedford, in 2:37 for the title at 185.
Joe DelMastro was pinned by Jordan Marshall of Glendale, in the quarterfinals, then came back to pin Smeltzer of Everett. in 1:55 and decked Dakota Waite of Southern Huntingdon, in 1:57 for third place at 100. Shane Noye opened with a fall over Zack Myers of Juniata Valley, at 110, in 1:03, but was doubled up 8-4 by Josh Mowery of Northern Bedford. In the consolation rounds, Noye won in overtime 5-3 over Luke Ickes of Claysburg, and pinned Juniata Valley’s Myers again in 2:52. Dustin Pruznac (115) pinned Allen Seibert of Southern Huntingdon, in 2:45 to open his tournament, then was pinned by Ben Sollenberger of Northern Bedford, in 0:54. In the consolations, Dustin edged Seibert 3-1.
Don Partner (95) was pinned in 1:59 by Myers of Claysburg in the quarters, then decisioned Joel Walstrom of mo Valley, 5-3 before falling to Myers again, this time in the almost identical time of 1:57. Garrett Wyland (138) pinned Aaron Claycomb of Everett, in the quarterfinals in, then was decked by Kelsey Tarr of Glendale, in 3:50. In the consolations, Wyland decisioned T. J. Swoope of Mo Valley, 8-3, then was pinned by Ben Parry of Claysburg.
