Hollidaysburg State Police
Police report a burglary on March 2 along Cherry Road in Tyrone between 8 p.m. and midnight. Property was removed from Harlan Cox’s residence and two teenagers have been charged with the incident. Nineteen-year old Troy C. Alley of 129 Cherry Avenue, Tyrone and an unidentified juvenile were charged in the case.

A residence in Tyrone Township was burglarized in the first week of March according to state police. Several items were taken from the residence which is part of the estate of James Lee Kruis of RD 3 Altoona. Kruis died in January of 2004.
Among the items taken were a Gateway 2000 hard drive, keyboard and monitor valued at $700, a grey Sony stereo system with a 50 CD changer valued at $300, assorted country music compact discs valued at $500 and a black RCA 27-inch television valued at $250. Police estimate the value of the items stolen $1,750 with damage to the property estimated at $200.

Five-hundred dollars in coins were taken during the first weekend in March from the residence of David Ballard of RR 3 in Altoona. Someone entered the residence on Sinking Valley Road in Tyrone Township. Police report known suspects and a continuing investigation.

A 41-year old Tyrone woman is accused of making harassing phone calls to two people in Frankstown Township. Timothy Sheehan of Hollidaysburg and Carin Conrad of Huntingdon contacted state police and reported Teri Lynne Moore had called them several times and made repeated threats toward them.
A citation against Moore is being filed in district court.

A one vehicle accident in Antis Township has led to DUI and other charges against 18-year old Matthew Rogers of 541 East 4th Street, Bellwood.
Rogers was traveling south on Kerbaugh Road a week ago Wednesday shortly before 2:30 a.m. According to the state police report, he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the road into a ditch. Rogers was taken into custody and transported to Tyrone Hospital where he submitted to a blood draw. He will face charges of DUI, underage drinking and related summary traffic offenses. Charges were expected to be filed at district court.

A drug possession case is being investigated in Antis Township by state police. The trooper filing the report indicated during a criminal trespass investigation somewhere off Riggles Gap Road, a man known to police was found to be in possession of suspected drug material. Police are continuing their investigation.

A hit and run accident has been reported in Snyder Township on State Route 4027 in Grazierville. Richard Hand of Duncansville was operating his vehicle north bound towards Tyrone. A vehicle operated by a white female going southbound traveled into the north lane forcing Hand’s vehicle on to the west berm.

The woman’s vehicle left side struck Hand’s vehicle on the left and then continued to travel south and fled the scene. Police report the woman was driving a blue car which suffered damage to the left side mirror. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at the Hollidaysburg State Police barracks.
