Brian Dodson, M.D., Board Certified Gastroenterologist, is pleased to announce the opening of his Tyrone office at 5 Hospital Drive, on the campus of Tyrone Hospital, effective May 12.
Dodson has been utilizing space at Tyrone Hospital while his office on the Tyrone Hospital campus was being prepared.
Hospital officials invited Dodson to establish a practice in Tyrone in addition to his Altoona location, because there was a need for his services in the community.
As a gastroenterologist, Dodson provides medical services for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders of the gastrointestinal system and for liver problems.
The addition of Dodson means people who suffer from common gastrointestinal problems like indigestion, heartburn, irritable bowel syndrome, and other conditions and also those who need colon cancer screening can receive these services in Tyrone.
Dodson is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is a member of Blair Gastroenterology Associates. In addition to Tyrone Hospital, he is on staff at other Blair County facilities including Altoona Hospital, Bon Secours Regional Health System, Nason Hospital, and Healthsouth Rehabilitation Center.
Dodson is a graduate of the Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Missouri.
He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Iowa. He completed a gastroenterology fellowship and a research fellowship at Washington University.
The American Journal of Physiology has published articles co-authored by Dodson on various topics related to gastroenterology.
Dodson’s professional affiliations include the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American College of Gastroenterology.
