The girls Mountain Conference Meet was even more competitive than the boys meet, with Bellwood-Antis pulling out the championship with a 27-point margin over Huntingdon 1681¼2-1411¼2.
“We knew it would be a close meet with Huntingdon,” explained B-A girls coach julie Roseborough. “The dual meet was close and they have some good athletes. We were able to get the top three places in the 100 and first and third in th 800 and that was big for us. Allison Cherry ran nice races in the 800 and 1600 to place first in both events. She is getting her confidence back and beating some of the girlsd, like the Weko girl from Juniata Valley that defeated Allison earlier. Allison Sinisi cleared nine feet in the pole vault to win that event. If she can consistently do that, she can be in the running at districts. We are glad to get Ashley mueller back after two weeks nursing a quad pull. She had three places and ran on the 400 relay team that won.”
Mueller won the 100, was second in the intermediate hurdles and third in the 200. Erica Greene won the 200 and was secon in the 100 and added a leg on the 400 relay. Stephanie Hatch won the high jump and Sinisi took the poel vault.

“Emily Lloyd had a good day with four places,” acknowledged coach Yaniello. “In fact all of our points scored on the girls side were by sophmores, which shows great hope for the girls program. With some girls moving up from the junior high next year and some othjers from the senior high who want to come out, we should be in good shape.”
