Quorum Health Resources and Price Motors of Cassville lead the list of sponsors for this year’s J.C. Blair Benefit Golf Classic to be held this Friday, May 28 at the Standing Stone Golf Course in Huntingdon.
Every hole is sponsored and the field of over 100 golfers is filled with supporters of J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. The event is sponsored annually by the Auxiliary to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital with all proceeds benefiting the Hospital. Tee off time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
QHR is underwriting the cost of the buffet for all golfers and Price Motors is sponsoring the hole-in-one contest and offering an additional fund raising opportunity through Chrysler’s “Art of Driving” test drive event. Price Motors will have a fleet of new Chrysler cars at the golf tournament and at the Hospital on Friday for test driving and will donate $5 for every test drive taken.

Also at the golf classic, the StatMedEvac helicopter is scheduled to fly over Standing Stone Golf Course and drop hundreds of golf balls over a single hole.
J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital Foundation is sponsoring a unique fundraiser – a Golf Ball Drop – in conjunction with the Auxiliary. Numbered tickets for the Golf Ball Drop cost $10 each. Each ticket number is transferred onto a golf ball. All the golf balls will be placed in a helicopter and dropped from about 200-300 feet onto a target on Standing Stone Golf Course’s driving range. The person with the ticket number that matches the first numbered golf ball in the hole wins $1,000. Estimated time of the golf ball drop is 2:30 p.m.
Tickets are available at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Standing Stone Golf Course, Huntingdon Country Club, and by calling the Foundation at (814) 506-1077.
The Golf Ball Drop fundraiser will help provide funds to purchase an additional mammography system at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. Because J.C. Blair has only one mammography system, a back log of four to five months exists for screening mammography appointments. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to surviving breast cancer, which is highly detectable through a screening mammography. An additional system will enable the Hospital to increase by 78 percent the number of mammograms provided and will allow J.C. Blair to offer premier mammography service to the women of Huntingdon County.
