Today and Sunday, July 14 and 15, Fort Roberdeau will hold its annual ‘Revolutionary War Days’. This event includes reenactments, featuring an 18th century camp, various demonstrations, crafts, food, and a 3 p.m. attack at the fort. Admission fees include $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
The 2007 season at Fort Roberdeau will run until October 31. Hours include Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday and Monday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. This includes guided Fort tours, exhibits, the museum shop, nature trails, special programs for children, and picnic facilities. Admission fees are $4 for adults, seniors and groups $3, and $2 for children under 12.
There are a variety of additional events offered at Fort Roberdeau this season.
On July 27, they will be offering their ‘Young Patriots Program’. This is open to children ages 8-11. They will get the opportunity to spend a 1778 style day in costume as a colonial child, guarding the Fort, playing 18th century games, going on a spying expedition, and making a craft. Admission fees are $20 per child. This program is also available on other dates for youth groups.
On August 15, the Fort Roberdeau Association will host their annual picnic. There will be a delicious picnic dinner and entertainment. Cost is $12 per person.
In September and October, they will offer two different programs for students. The ‘Hands on the Past’ program and ‘A Bridge to the Past’ program will be offered at dates not yet announced.
