Mrs. Catherine O. Bailor, 83, a guest at Beverly Healthcare-Hillview, formerly of Bellwood, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Altoona Hospital.
She was born December 6, 1920, in Altoona, daughter of the late Samuel Lewis and Elsie (Lynn) Hite.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan B. Riley and husband, Charles, of Woodbury; a son, Ted Bailor and wife, Donna, of Bellwood; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey, in 1955; a daughter, Jennifer, in 1978; and was the last of her immediate family.
Mrs. Bailor retired in 1980 as owner/operator of Catherine Bailor Beauty Shop, Bellwood.
She was a member of Tipton Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and member of the Ladies Guild. She was a member of AARP.
Mrs. Bailor enjoyed painting, writing poetry, crocheting and flower gardening.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today, July 26, 2004, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Sweitzer officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
