Area state police blotter
A Tyrone woman has reported a burglary earlier this month at her residence on Teaberry Street.
Susan Denise Smith told state police an unknown person entered her residence while she was away on Oct. 3. Police said there was no sign of entry discovered at the residence at 1350 Teaberry Street in the Teaberry Street complex.

A 41-year-old Spruce Creek woman was involved in a one-vehicle accident shortly before 7 p.m. on Oct. 17 on State Route 45 in Morris Township.
The accident occurred when Tammy Elensky was traveling west on State Route 45 toward State Route 453.
Elensky became distracted as she attempted to place a call on her cell phone. When she looked up from the phone, she became aware she had crossed into the east bound lane of travel. Elensky’s car then struck a culvert running along side the east bound berm of the road. The car overturned and came to its final rest.
Police said Elensky was under the influence of alcohol. She suffered minor injuries and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Hollidaysburg state police report a hunting rifle was found about 500 yards east of Interstate 99, near the Tyrone exit in Snyder Township on Oct. 18 at 6:45 p.m.
Police are asking anyone who may have lost a hunting rifle at or near the area where it was found to contact them at 696-6100.

A 74-year-old Tyrone man reported a theft at his residence on Oct. 19 at 10:30 p.m.
The incident occurred at the home located off of Gates Hill Road in Snyder Township. A wallet containing $200 and a jar of coins with about $10 inside was taken from the property, according to state police. Their investigation is continuing.

A tractor trailer and a sport-utility vehicle were involved in an accident shortly before 8 a.m. on Oct. 20 in Snyder Township.
The accident happened on State Route 4027, when 34-year-old Bryan M. McCorriston of Altoona was operating a tractor trailer south bound. The truck crossed the double yellow line as it approached the SUV driven by 41-year-old Ricky Gray of Tyrone. Gray tried to avoid the collision, but was struck nearly head on by the tractor trailer.
The truck rolled over and went off the road.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and sustained minor injuries. McCorriston was cited for crossing the double line.

A 38-year-old woman was involved in an Act 64-drug paraphernalia incident while police were investigating a drug overdose in Tyrone Township at 6 p.m. on Oct. 20.
Police investigating the case at a location on State Route 1008, found a syringe in the woman’s possession.
