For the first time ever, there will be two trips instead of one to double the fun during the fifth annual Victorian Christmas train ride.
The event is open to the public and is scheduled for Saturday, December 11.
Individuals may choose to leave Tyrone on the first trip at 8 a.m. and return at approximately 3 p.m. or leave on the second trip at noon and return at approximately 7 p.m.
The Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce will once again sponsor the train ride to Bellefonte so that individuals may enjoy the town’s Christmas Days craft show and festivities.
According to Executive Director of the Tyrone Chamber Rose Black, in the past four years, the train has sold out.
Even with the two trips scheduled for this year, there is still a limited number of seats available. It is suggested that individuals call or stop to reserve tickets in order to choose a specific time.
Tickets are available at the Chamber office, Gardners Candies and Monika’s Cards & Gifts.
For the event, Rail Park will be open one hour prior to departure, courtesy of the Tyrone Area Historical Society. Members will provide hot beverages and snacks.
Also, remember to allow extra time before and/or after the trip to shop and eat in Tyrone.
Many of the Tyrone area businesses will have extended Christmas shopping hours and extra holiday inventory looking forward to welcoming everyone.
