Area state police reports
Huntingdon-based state police have released details on an incident which dates back to May 9, 2004.
A person known to the police and the victim, Central Pennsylvania’s Auto Connection Magazine, issued a check to the Warriors Mark company in the amount of $900.
Several contacts were made by the victim to the person passing the check, but the person failed to resolve the issue.
Police said they are continuing their investigation.

Police are also investigating another bad check incident which happened on Nov. 30 in Warriors Mark Township.
Leanne Stine sold a car to a man who paid by check and the bank has verified the check is no good. The investigation is ongoing.

A car and a tractor trailer were involved in an accident at the intersection of State Route 865 and State Route 1000 in Antis Township on Dec. 7 at 11:30 a.m.
A car driven by 57-year-old Dale A. Wronski of East Freedom hit the rear of a tractor trailer driven by 60-year-old Clifford W. Howe of Canada while Howe’s truck was stopped at the signal light.
Both men were wearing seat belts and neither one suffered injuries.

A Tyrone woman was involved in a one-vehicle crash on Back Vail Road in Snyder Township on Dec. 7 at 1:07 p.m.
Rachel Day was traveling on the road and swerved into the west shoulder area and struck a rocky ditch. Day was not hurt in the incident and she was wearing her seat belt.
Her vehicle had moderate damage.

State police investigated a drug possession case earlier this month involving a 17-year-old girl in Antis Township.
The juvenile had in her possession some prescription sleeping pills for which she had no lawful prescription. The incident happened outside the Cherry Street apartments near DelGrosso’s Park in Antis Township.
Police said in their release that a juvenile petition will be filed.

An Altoona woman was involved in a hit and run accident with an unidentified man at the intersection of State Route 764 (old Route 2200 and State Route 4018 at the Pinecroft intersection in Antis Township on Dec. 8.
A vehicle driven by an unidentified white man was traveling south on the road while Connie Stewart was driving north on it. The man made a left turn at the intersection and went directly into the path of Stewart’s vehicle. His vehicle struck Stewart’s causing damage to the left front of it.
The man left the scene without providing necessary information.
Police described him as being in his early to mid 20’s with dark hair. He was driving a white and tan Ford Explorer. Police said his vehicle had damage to the right front passenger side of it.

Huntingdon state police are investigating a burglary, theft and criminal mischief case at a residence in Warriors Mark sometime earlier this month.
Police said the incidents happened between Dec. 8 and 9 when the suspect(s) broke windows and entered the victim’s residence and removed numerous items.
The items included a miter saw, a reciprocating saw, a cordless drill, a circular saw, a frame backpack, a sleeping bag, a first aid kit, a water purifer and a camping stove. The stolen items were valued at about $300.
The broken windows were valued at $150.
