The Central PA Wolves scored in every period against Altoona while goal keeper Fred Dorman (Bellwood-Antis) stopped all 15 shots on goal in a 5-0 Central PA win on Jan. 31, at Galactic Ice.
Craig Thompson (Spring Cove) scored twice and added two assists to lead the Wolves, who improved to 8-3-3 in Central Pennsylvania Ice Hockey Association (CPIHA) play, while Altoona falls to 5-7.
Chris Carthew (Chestnut Ridge) opened the scoring for the Wolves with assists from Jonathan Bishop (Tyrone) and Kyle Hopkins (State College) barely a minute and a half into the game.
In the middle period, Issac Fink (Bald Eagle Area) scored midway through the period on an assist from Thompson and Thompson then added a score three minutes later off an assist from Carthew.
In the final period, Thompson scored again assisted by Andy Shoop, at the 8:31 mark, and Shoop (Spring Cove) fired the final goal into the Altoona net on assists from Thompson and Bryan Carthew.
Dorman turned in his second shutout in the Wolves’ last three contests, also closing the net against the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders on Thursday, Jan 20 in a 3-0 whitewash.
The next games for Central PA are Thursday, 2/3 at 6:50 p.m. vs. Central Cambria Red Devils at Galactic Ice and Wednesday, 2/9 at 8:15 p.m. vs. Blades at Indiana Ice Center in Indiana.
