When the Bellwood-Antis School Board met last week, they had an array of topics to cover, including what to do with unused district computers. Board members also had several district positions to fill.
A discussion was held regarding laptops that are no longer used by the school district. The Bellwood Borough Police Department had mentioned possibly getting laptops to use in their police cars. A suggestion was made that the district donate their unused laptops to the borough police for this use. The board agreed to give the Bellwood Borough Police Department four laptops which are currently not in service for district use. This is part of the school district’s Safe School Initiative.
Board members approved an Agreement with IU8 for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act for the 2004-05 school year in the amount of $176,820.93.
They also agreed to exonerate the local elected tax collectors, Susan Kensinger in Antis Township, $4,300 and Loueen Grazier in Bellwood Borough, $2,830, from further collection of the 2000-01 per capita tax and submit all unpaid accounts to Berkheimer Associates for delinquent collection at no cost to the district.
