Charles G. “Chuck” Little, Sr., 81, of 807 Park Ave., Tyrone died unexpectedly at his residence at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2005.
He was born June 25, 1923 in Tyrone, a son of the late Clyde W. and Edna Belle (Morrissey) Little, Sr.
He was married Oct. 13, 1947 in Tyrone, to Mary H. Garber.
He is survived by his wife and four children: Pamela K. Little, Tyrone; Charles G. Little, Jr. and wife Sharon, Tyrone; Mari Sue McGregor and husband John, RD1, Tyrone and Robin A. Little, Tyrone.
Three grandchildren: Mindi McGregor, Ian McGregor and Kodi Little.
Three great grandchildren: Justice, Brianna and Trinity.
Two sisters: Donna Fleck of Bellwood and Emma Jane Andreas of Mechanicsburg.
He was preceded in death by granddaughters Erin M. and Carri Jo Little and brothers Fay V., Elmer G. and Clyde W., Jr.
He was a member of the Warriors Mark Bible Baptist Church. An Army Veteran of W.W. II, serving with the 5th Army Engineers in the European Theatre.
He was a member of the N.R.A. and the Tyrone Sportsmen’s Assn. and enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball and sports. He was in the Color Guard Unit of the former Gardner Guards of Tyrone and was proud of participating in the Inaugural Parades for Eisenhower and Kennedy.
He enjoyed playing Santa Claus for 30 years and always had a real beard.
He retired in 1986 from Tyrone Westvaco Corp. after 39 years as a papermaker and boiler fireman.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 11, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Pastor Steven E. Burns officiating. Interment and Flag Presentation will be at the Blair Memorial Park.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Contributions in his memory are asked to be given to the Warriors Mark Bible Baptist Church.
