Lisa Kovac recently announced she is running for the position of school director of the Bellwood-Antis School District.
Kovac has been on the board since September, after she was appointed to fill the vacancy created when Scott Boyer resigned.
She is a Bellwood-Antis School District graduate and also graduated from Indiana University of PA with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She and her husband, Timothy Kovac, have two sons: Adam, 14 and Alex, 14 months. Adam is an eighth grader at Bellwood-Antis.
Kovac currently works as the Service Coordinator at PC Works Plus, Inc. in Bellwood.
“I submitted my letter of interest to be on the board because I love education and being involved in the processes that make a school district work,” said Kovac.
“Having a vested interest in my son attending B-A fueled my desire to see the excellence continue in the district.
“I like being involved in the community and I really want to do what’s in the best interest of the students at all times. This experience with the Board has led me to decide to run for the position, as appointed board members can only serve one year.
“I have learned so much through this experience and I would like to learn more.”
