Pennsylvania State Attorney General Tom Corbett announced a major drug bust today which came as a result of an approximately five-month investigation into what is being called “alleged street-level drug dealing in Blair County”, including the Tyrone area.
A release from the Attorney General’s office said agents from his Bureau of Narcotics Invaestigation and nearly 80 Blair County Drug Task Force members and police officers were in the process of capturing as many as 40 suspected drug dealers earlier this morning.
Another release from the Blair County Drug Task Force indicated the suspects were involved in the delivery and possession of controlled substances.
Arrest warrants were being served starting at 6:30 this morning with suspects being brought to the Frankstown Armory for processing. Arraignments were to be conducted by Magisterial District Judges Fred Miller and Ken Gorman. More details about today’s drug bust will appear in Friday’s Daily Herald.
