Do you know as much as your children do about drugs? What you don’t know can be shocking.
Sherry Gioiosa, Prevention Specialist for the Altoona Regional Health System, will present “What’s Hot and What’s Not: Current Drug Trends and Paraphernalia” at a countywide Neighborhood Watch meeting on Tuesday, April 26 at 7 p.m. at the Great Commission School in Altoona.
Sponsored by Blair Senior Service, Inc., the meeting will focus on how to identify continually-evolving methods of drug use.
Parents and neighbors will learn to pick up on the lesser-known signs of abuse that have already been discovered in local schools and neighborhoods.
The Altoona City Police Department will provide a first-hand account of what is happening in the area.
Drug use is different than it used to be. Items in a medicine cabinet, on a grocery store shelf, or in the pocket of a student’s backpack, can be more harmful than they appear. Get a glimpse of what kids may already know.
