Previous Champions Huntingdon and Altoona Highlight Eight-Team Field
?(ALTOONA, PA) – Eight high school baseball programs from throughout Central Pennsylvania will participate in the third annual Dean Patterson Curve Classic this Thursday through Sunday at Blair County Ballpark in Altoona.
?The eight-team field will include defending champion Huntingdon, 2003 winner Altoona and two-time runner-up Central.? Other participating schools include Bishop Guilfoyle, Bishop McCort, Hollidaysburg, Philipsburg-Osceola and Tyrone.
The DPCC will be played over four consecutive days with all quarterfinal, semifinal and championship round action being contested at Blair County Ballpark.?
Quarterfinal round games will be played on Thursday, April 21, and Friday, April 22, with the winners advancing to the semifinal round on Saturday the 23rd. The champion of the 2005 Dean Patterson Curve Classic will be crowned on Saturday the 24th at 1 PM (See complete schedule at the bottom).?
?Dean Patterson Chevrolet once again returns as the title sponsor of the Curve Classic, continuing its tremendous support of youth athletics in the region. In addition to the Dean Patterson Curve Classic, the dealership has title sponsorship of the Dean Patterson Little World Series, the Dean Patterson Great Chevy Shootout and the Dean Patterson Little Stanley Cup.?? ?

?For the third consecutive year, admission to the tournament games will be free of charge. Donations will be accepted for the Dean Patterson Curve Classic Scholarship Fund. Previous winners of the scholarship fund are Altoona’s Jim Clancy (2003) and Huntingdon’s Casey McGraw (2004).
The seven games of the Dean Patterson Curve Classic won’t be the only important high school baseball action contested at Blair County Ballpark throughout the spring. The ballpark will also play host to both the PIAA District 6 Baseball Championships June 1-2 and the PIAA State Baseball Championships June 17.
