Moshannon Valley shut out the Bellwood-Antis girls softball team at Amesville on Thursday afternoon 12-0 in five innings.
Amy Tomasko limited the Lady Blue Devils to three hits, striking out 10 and not walking a batter.
Charlie Burns drilled a double to lead off the second inning, but Tomasko struck out the next three B-A hitters to strand the Lady Blue Devils’ senior catcher at second base.
B-A centerfielder Pam Weyant opened the game with a single and pitcher Christina Pfahler singled to begin the fourth inning. Weyant was out at second base and Pfahler was the first out on a second-baseman to shortstop double play sandwiched around a strikeout to end the at bat.
Megan Leskovansky led the attack for the Lady Damsels with a walk, single and double, three RBI and three runs scored and Tomasko helped herself out with two hits, two runs scored and two RBI.
Bellwood-Antis has another tough week coming with a home contest against Southern Huntingdon on Tuesday and a road trip to West Branch on Thursday. The home contest with the Lady Rockets will begin at 4:30 p.m., while the West Branch game will start 30 minutes earlier at 4 p.m.
