Elks tried hard to capture their initial conquest of the season, taking 2-1 and 6-4 leads, after Ferguson’s had opened the scoring to take a 1-0 advantage after two innings. FPC kept coming back however, finally pushing a run across in the bottom of the sixth, to avoid going into extra innings.
Jimmy Ferguson and Seth Barrett led the attack for the winners. Ferguson cracked out two hits including a double and scored twice, while Barrett tripled and singled and scored once. Joey Miller knocked in two runs for Ferguson’s with a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Derrick Emigh and Kaleb Chronister had two hits for Elks.
