The Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company will hold a chicken barbecue and open house tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The menu will include chicken, DelGrosso’s potato salad, baked beans, a roll and beverage. The cost is $6 per person.
Money raised from the dinner will go toward the company’s general costs.
Besides having dinner, individuals will also be able to take advantage of the company’s open house. Interested individuals will be able to tour the station. Members will be available to answer questions about the station as well as the equipment.
Fire company member, David Hoffman, explained that the open house is an opportunity for community members to learn more about the fire company and to ask questions. It will also serve as a member drive for the company.
“We’re trying to get our membership up,” said Hoffman.
The age requirement to become a member is fifteen-and-a-half years-old. The Hookies serve Tyrone Borough, Snyder Township and Birmingham Borough.
AMED will also be available throughout the day to provide blood pressure checks. They will be handing out coloring books for the kids also.
