Mrs. Olive W. Isenberg, age 89, of Reservoir Drive, Tyrone died Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 6:15 p.m. at the Tyrone Hospital. She was born April 16, 1916 in Winburne (Clearfield County), the daughter of John Emil and Anna Sophia Johnson Wickman. She was first married to Harold Rexford Barlett who died in July 1951 and on August 2, 1957 she was married to Clifford B. Isenberg who survives. Also surviving are six children: John Barlett and wife Peggy of Tyrone; Larry Barlett and wife Debbie of Warriors Mark; Barbara Barlett of Port Matilda; Carl Barlett and wife Marti of Pennsdale; Virginia, wife of Dr. Jeffrey Harris of Lapeer, MI and Elizabeth, wife of Wayne Russell of New Bloomfield; 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family and was preceded by five brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Isenberg had served as the Operating Room Supervisor at Tyrone Hospital, retiring in 1985 after 31 years service. She was a graduate of Cooper Township High School, Class of 1933, received her R.N. from Buffalo General Hospital and did her surgical training at Harrisburg General Hospital. She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. She had been a member of the church choir for 40 years, was a member of the Women’s Sunday School Class and the Order of Eastern Star No. 288, Tyrone. She was a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses and the Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary. She particularly enjoyed her family, traveling and piano music.
Funeral service for Olive W. Isenberg will be Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church with Pastor T.M. Talbot-Moses officiating. Interment will be in Eastlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. An Eastern Star service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening.
