The St. Joseph Institute in Port Matilda hosted the most recent Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours last Thursday.
Those in attendance enjoyed a relaxing event, full of good food and fellowship, all while taking advantage of the opportunity to tour the new facility.
According to information in the July 2005 Tyrone Chamber Tab, St. Joseph Institute offers a relaxing environment that helps foster creativity and make business meetings more productive. It also offers retreats for other groups and organizations.
The Institute features a complex of log buildings that creates a mountain retreat, fully equipped for seminars and planning meetings.
The Laurel Wellness Center at the Institute offers spa treatments for healing and revitalization. Recreation facilities, walking trails, gardens and gazebos offer opportunities for rest and enjoyment.
The Bald Eagle Hospitality House provides a meeting room with a fireplace, cathedral ceiling and enormous windows that provides an exciting, yet peaceful environment. The library and lounges offer smaller meeting areas for more intimate discussion.
The dining room will ensure that guests receive enjoyable meals. The Sycamore Lodge provides guest accommodations for 28 in comfortable surroundings. The Appalachian Suite has additional accommodations for four, and offers an executive setting for private meetings and relaxation.
St. Joseph Institute offers skill development programs in communications, strategic planning, negotiation, problem solving, conflict resolution, business ethics and marketing. The Institute also works with organizations to design training programs that will address specific needs.
The Institute will custom design a wellness program for any business or individual.
For those interested in visiting the facility, travel two miles north of the Snappy’s convenience store on State Route 350. Then, turn right on South Mountain Road and travel an additional 2.2 miles. St. Joseph’s Institute is on the right side of the road.
