Mrs. Esther L. Ormsby, 83, a resident of Colonial Courtyard, Tyrone, died at 8:55 p.m., Wed., Aug. 17, 2005 at the Epworth Manor.
She was born Jan. 20, 1922 in Sandy Ridge, PA, the daughter of William Edgar and Mary L. (Pfoutz) Cites.
She married Richard F. Ormsby on Jan. 21, 1939 at Cumberland, MD.
She is survived by her husband and three children: Turann Golter (Jerry of Shippensburg; Richard F. Ormsby, Jr. (Marilyn) of Warwick, RI; Sherry Hoffman (Chris) of Hollidaysburg and 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Dean Cites.
She was a member of the Tyrone Wesley United Methodist Church and was formerly active in the A.A.R.P. and the Tyrone Hospital Aux.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family gatherings.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone with the Rev. Dennis Gable officiating. Interment will follow at Bald Eagle Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the Tyrone Wesley United Methodist Church Building Fund.
