The Tyrone Junior High girls basketball team lost its season opener on Tuesday 46-20 to Roosevelt junior high in Altoona.
Suzanne Zimmerman led Tyrone with a game-high 11 points, including three three-pointers, while Crystal Waite added five points.
Roosevelt used a well-balanced attack, led by Paige Robertson with eight points, while Jessica Bosak and Tomeka Lacy each added six. In all, nine girls scored for the Lady Teddies
The Lady Eagles dropped the seventh and eighth grade game as well, 47-21, despite six points from Rachel Emigh.
Tyrone begins league play Tuesday at home against Bald Eagle Area at 3:15 p.m..
