The Tyrone Area boys varsity soccer team lost 7-0 to Penns Valley at the Fifth Street soccer field on Wednesday afternoon. Penns Valley had 12 shots on goal with Tyrone having five.
“I am seeing improvement in every game we play,” said Tyrone boys soccer coach Jim Raabe. “Even though we are a brand new team and the majority of the guys have never played before, we are playing with heart and enthusiasm. We will win games!”
The Tyrone Junior varsity team edged Penns Valley’s jayvee squad 3-2.
Tyrone had six shots on goal and Penns Valley had three.
Scorers for the were 10th graders Ethan Nulton and Jonathan Hampton. This is the Junior Varsity’s second win, having lost only to Lewistown only once to Lewistown.
These were the first official varsity and junior varsity soccer games at home for Tyrone\’s new soccer program.
The Eagles’ boys soccer coaches are Jim Raabe, the head coach, with Chris Elder and Matt Genchur as his assistants.
