Someone engaged in a rock throwing incident along Interstate 99 last month and the act damaged the vehicle of a Windber woman.
State police said the incident happened on I-99, just south of the Pinecroft exit in Antis Township on Sept. 18 at 2:45 a.m.
An unknown suspect threw a rock, which struck the vehicle of Sharon A. Wilt. The vehicle had $400 in damage. Police were seeking the public’s help regarding the case.

A hit-and-run incident occurred at the Tyrone Hospital parking lot on the morning of Sept. 19.
The incident happened when a pick-up truck was parked in the lot unattended. The unidentified driver hit the left rear corner of the truck with their vehicle and left the scene without providing information as required by the state’s motor vehicle code.

A New York City driver suffered major injuries in a one-vehicle accident on State Route 453 in Snyder Township on Sept. 19 at 2:44 p.m.
Police said 40-year-old Selwyn T. Morgan was traveling north on the road and for unknown reasons, lost control of his vehicle and struck an embankment east of the road. The vehicle traveled across the southbound lane and struck another embankment west of the road, causing it to flip over.
Morgan was taken to Altoona Hospital for head and back injuries. Police said he was wearing a seat belt. Morgan’s vehicle had major damage.
In their press release, authorities said they were continuing their investigation because they suspected Morgan might have been under the influence of controlled substances.
Tyrone and Warriors Mark-Franklin fire companies assisted police.

A 36-year-old Altoona woman was injured along with a passenger in her vehicle in an accident that happened in Antis Township on Sept. 19 at 7:25 p.m.
Erin Sue Luciano was going north on State Route 4015 when she crossed the east berm and went off the shoulder of the road. She attempted to steer back onto the road but lost control, skidding across the road to a ditch on the west side of the road. The vehicle’s right front struck a cement pipe and rolled, coming to rest on the driver’s side.
Luciano and her passenger, 24-year-old Thomas Edward Stahl were both taken to Altoona Hospital and admitted.
Luciano’s vehicle had severe damage.

State police investigated a theft from two motor vehicles in September that happened at Himes Motor on State Route 4019 in Antis Township.
Police said someone broke the passenger’s side door on a 1997 Dodge Dakota truck, but the vehicle was not entered. After breaking the window, the unknown suspect apparently noticed the truck had an alarm system. The thief then entered a 1996 Geo Metro and removed a CD player from the vehicle.
